CardScan Quick Search
CardScan version 8’s Quick Search feature finds contacts as you type – so you can find virtually any contact or group of contacts in seconds, with just a few keystrokes. We’ve put together just a few of the most popular ways our customers use Quick Search; no doubt you’ll find a more of your own.

Know who is calling before you answer the phone.
Using your caller ID and CardScan’s Quick Search bring up a contacts record while you’re phone is still ringing, review your notes and you will know exactly who is calling when you answer. |

How to use your Caller ID and Quick Search:
- Open CardScan contact management software
- In Quick Search box type in last 4 digits of the callers phone number
- If your caller is in your CardScan file the record will be available in the list view
- Double click on contact to view contact details in Edit to read the notes and to make new notes
- Answer the phone
Tip: If phone number isn’t in your CardScan file Click the new card icon in the Quick Access bar and create a contact record for the person calling

Make the most of your business trips.
Plan contact visits before or during a trip. Search your contact file by the state or city you’re visiting – or already in – for a list of contacts you should call or visit while you’re there. |

How to search by location:
- Open CardScan contact management software
- In Quick Search box type in city, state or zip you are in or traveling to
- List view will display all contacts in file meeting your criteria

Never lose a contact in your CardScan files.
If you maintain multiple CardScan contact files and can’t remember which file contains your contact, don’t worry: You can use Quick Search over multiple files. |

How to search multiple files:
- Open CardScan contact management software
- Open multiple files so the file name is displayed on File tabs
- In Quick Search box type in contact info
- CardScan searches and selects matching contacts in all open files.
- CardScan indicates which files contain matching cards by highlighting the name in the File bar.
Until the search is completed, CardScan indicates it has not finished searching a file by "graying" the name on the File bar.
