CardScan Print Wizard

Labels. Envelopes. Badges. Reports. Whatever you need to print from your contact data file, CardScan v8’s new Print Wizard makes the job a snap.





Boost trade show attendance with direct mail.

Filter your contact list by the city, state or zip code of the trade show; then instantly address labels or envelopes for a direct mailer that lets customers know you’ll be in their area.

How to filter or refine your searches with QuickSearch:
  1. Choose Card -> QuickSearch or click the QuickSearch button on the QuickAccess bar.  CardScan will display the QuickSearch dialog.
  2. Type in the city, state or zip code of the customers you wish to find.
  3. Select whether to find contacts with any of the words.
  4. Select the field to search from the list of CardScan fields.
  5. Select the file to search from the dropdown list of open files. CardScan updates this list automatically to reflect the files you have open.
  6. Click 'Search' or press 'Enter'. CardScan converts your choices into a QuickSearch string, inserts the string into the QuickSearch box, performs the search, and displays the results in List view.
NOTE:  CardScan saves the last ten searches you have performed. When you click 'Search', it adds the words to the top of the dropdown list. If the words are already in the list, CardScan moves them to the top.







Now that you have your list, printing mailing labels or envelopes is easy!


Print Wizard Steps:
  1. To print all contacts displayed in List view, choose File -> Print. The Select Cards dialog appears. Click 'All cards', then 'Next'.
  2. To print selected contacts, hold down the 'Ctrl' key, click each card, then right-click and select 'Print'. The Select Cards dialog appears. Click 'Selected cards', then 'Next'.
  3. To print a contact in List view, right-click the card and select 'Print'. The Select Cards dialog appears. Click 'Selected cards', then 'Next'.
  4. To print a contact in Edit or Summary view, choose File -> Print. The Select Cards dialog appears. Click 'Selected cards', then 'Next'.
  5. Click 'Next'. The Choose Format dialog appears.
  6. Choose Labels.
  7. Click 'Next'. The Choose Page Layout dialog appears.
  8. Choose a layout, and then click 'Next'. The Select Fields dialog appears.
  9. Under Print Fields, check the fields to be printed.
  10. Choose a name option: Last Name, First Name or First Name Last Name.
  11. (optional) Click 'Font', choose a font, style and size, and then click 'OK'.
  12. Click 'Next'. The Print Preview dialog appears.
  13. Use the arrows to view the previous or next preview page.
  14. To zoom in, click the 'Zoom dropdown list' and choose a zoom level.
  15. To choose another paper size, click 'Print Setup'. The Print Setup dialog appears. Choose options and click 'OK'.
  16. Click 'Print'. The Windows Print dialog appears.
  17. Choose print parameters and click 'OK'.






Quickly print name badges, for a professional welcome.

Scan each visitor’s business card into CardScan as he or she enters – and then print a name and company badge with a few clicks of your mouse.

Printing a name badge:
  1. Scan the visitors business card into CardScan’s contact management software
  2. Verify that the person’s information is completely accurate (click verified box)
  3. While you are in Edit View, select 'File' from the main menu bar and then 'Print'
  4. Software defaults to Print Selected Cards
  5. Follow Print Wizard Steps above to print just Name and Company of your visitors badge.

Quickly print folder labels for filing contracts, quotes and other documents related to your contacts.  And in CardScan, use each contact’s Notes section to record what you’ve filed where.

Printing Label for file documents:
  1. After creating the folder for your contact open your CardScan software
  2. Select the contact and view individual information in Edit View
  3. From the main menu select File -> Print
  4. Follow the Print Wizard Steps above to select specific information you wish to print on the file label
  5. In the Notes section within the contacts information, record what documentation you have in the file and where you are putting the folder
