Batch Process
Whether you have stacks of business cards from a recent trade show, or you need to scan the cards you’ve accumulated over weeks, use the CardScan version 8 “Batch Process” feature to scan them fast – and add the information you need to manage them before you process.
Assign categories – and add any new ones you need - before you process your cards.
Then you can assign categories to all contacts you capture, in one step. |

Batch Scanning: Assigning notes and Categories to a Batch
To assign notes and categories to a batch of cards:
- Scan the first card or cards if scanning with Auto-Detect. The 'Scanning Options' dialog appears.
- Click 'Batch Options'. The 'Assign Notes' and 'Categories to Batch' dialog appears.
- In the 'Categories' window, click the categories to assign to all cards in the batch. To add, rename or remove categories, click 'Edit List'.
- In the 'Notes' window, type your notes. To enter date and time, click the icons to the right of the 'Notes' window.
- Click 'OK'. The 'Scanning Options' dialog appears.
- Scan the rest of the batch.
- Click 'Process'. CardScan:
- Processes all cards.
- Assigns selected categories to each card.
- Adds notes to each card.
- Displays the first card of the batch in Edit view.
Date-stamp/time-stamp your contacts
Date-stamp and/or time-stamp your contacts, so that later you can search for contacts by date or follow up in chronological order. |

Enter Time and Date Stamp to notes:
To enter date and time, click the icons to the right of the 'Notes' window.
Organize your business cards before you scan.
You can save more time if you sort your cards by event, category, date, time, or note before you batch process. |
