Press Release COREX TECHNOLOGIES NAMES PAUL OLEAN VP MARKETING AND SALES Industry Veteran to Expand CardScan Reach and Channels Cambridge, Mass. April 26 2004: Corex Technologies Inc., the maker of CardScan – the world’s number one business card scanner, today announced that Paul Olean has joined the firm as vice president of marketing and sales. In this position, Olean is responsible for setting the strategic direction and tactical execution of the firm’s marketing efforts and expanding the company’s direct, reseller and ecommerce capabilities. Paul brings more than 25 years success in marketing, sales, and operations in both domestic and international markets in multinational and start-up companies. “Paul is a welcome addition to Corex as we continue to expand our product line, services and distribution channels,” said Peter J. Weyman, president. “His strong history of achievement in strategic and tactical marketing and sales as well as his deep international experience will be of great benefit to the company and we are extremely pleased to welcome him as a key member of the Corex executive team.” Paul joins Corex having attained an over 20-year successful career at Bose Corporation. While at Bose, a $1.5 billion manufacturer of high fidelity music systems, he served in a number of progressively-responsible positions starting in sales and progressing in a number of follow-on positions as general manager of Europe, director of North American sales, director of customer relationship development, and director of business development for American sales. Among key achievements at Bose, he established the firm’s corporate internet site resulting in sales and profits in its first year of operation, directed its European operations achieving all performance parameters for the first time in the firm’s then 25-year history of the European Operations, and developed strategic customer initiatives including a unique customer advocacy model. Immediately prior to joining Corex Paul was principal of The Better Idea, a strategic marketing consulting company that specializes in the development of effective advocacy programs, and vice president of marketing and sales at Broadcastle Corporation, a start-up home networking company. Paul is a graduate of the University of Rhode Island with a bachelor of arts degree in political science and a masters degree in public administration.
